Joonas Korpisalo trade to Leafs
NHL trade rumors for November 12, 2022 feature Joonas Korpisalo. Will the Leafs made a Korpisalo trade to solidify their goaltending?

The Toronto Maple Leafs need to solidify their goaltending situation. Matt Murray was brought in to be the #1 goalie but that has not worked out.

Murray’s injury prone status hit him after the first game of the season and can the Leafs really rely on him for rest of the NHL season?

Ilya Samsonov provided solid goaltending for the Leafs before he went down with an injury. Toronto cannot depend on Erik Kallgren to be the starter and the same goes with Matt Murray.

Joonas Korpisalo trade to the Leafs?

Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff reports the Toronto Maple Leafs spent last week analyzing the goalie market to see what might be out there given Murray’s injury history.

Seravalli feels Joonas should be the Leafs #1 goalie target. The cost to acquire Korpisalo would not be much as NHL trade rumors last offseason had the Columbus Blue Jackets offering up Korpisalo for a mid-to-late round pick.

Korpisalo also have a very friendly Blue Jackets salary cap hit of $1.3 million AAV.

If the Leafs decide to pass on a Korpisalo trade, other options are the Kings Jonathan Quick, Flames Dan Vladar or Sharks James Reimer.
