Steven Stamkos was in Toronto yesterday and he was asked if he would play for the Toronto Maple Leafs when his contract expires in 2016.
Stamkos responses:
“We’ll see what happens. It’s a couple years away,”
“For me, that’s the important thing is getting a chance to win. It looks like we’re going to have that chance for a couple years.”
If the Toronto Maple Leafs have a contending team in two years, there is a very good possibility Stamkos could leave Tampa and sign with the Leafs.
Steven Stamkos is pretty good at this game. He's smart to keep the Maple Leafs door open http://t.co/yYifd3PuYW @sportsnet
