The Toronto Maple Leafs will be all-in this year. It is a do or die scenario for the team. They are legit Stanley Cup contenders and if they do not get past the first round this year, changes will be coming.
NHL trade rumors have been going around for a while that St. Louis Blues forward Ryan O’Reilly will be traded by the NHL trade deadline and the Maple Leafs appear to have serious interest in the forward.

Darren Dreger was on TSN 1050’s Leafs Lunch segment and was asked, what it would take for the Toronto Maple Leafs to acquire Ryan O’Reilly?
Dreger stated he does not think they would part ways with forward Matthew Knies but wonders about Nick Robertson and if he could be moved.
Dreger went on to say in his piece about O’Reilly that the Leafs have only have interest at this point, but the Maple Leafs are looking to add a forward and there is a lot of time between now and March 3, 2022 NHL trade deadline for them to jump into those talks.

If they do trade Nick, I hope its to the Western Conference so it doesn’t bite us in the ass as much. I know once he isn’t a Leaf, he will stay healthy and become a 35-40 goal scorer. Just how things work for Toronto.
