The Winnipeg Jets have had a disappointing season. Many NHL analysts had picked the Jets as the best Canadian team with the best chance to win the Stanley Cup this year. This has not happened, they are missing the playoffs and now NHL trade rumors are circulating that Winnipeg could trade Pierre-Luc Dubois this offseason.
Elliotte Friedman was on Sportsnet’s Hockey Night in Canada’s 32 Thoughts segment and reports, Dubois is up for a new contract and has two years until unrestricted free agency, which means he has a lot of real power over his future.
Friedman went on to say, if the Jets cannot sign him long-term this summer, it will be a situation to watch, where the Jets could trade him when free agent frenzy starts.
Dubois is due a qualifying offer of $6 million but he will likely seek a long-term contract of eight years at $8 million annually.
They have to trade wheeler
The Jets will re-sign Dubois and trade Schiefele in the offseason. Book it!
That’s what they should do but if they do the opposite I sure hope Treliving gets Dubois this time!
