There will be a lot of NHL rumors from now until the 2022 NHL draft in June about what the Montreal Canadiens will be doing. We know GM Kent Hughes will be looking to trade Brendan Gallagher and Jeff Petry. We also know the Habs have interest in signing Patrice Bergeron and Kris Letang.
Josh Yohe of The Athletic reports there will be changes coming to the Pittsburgh Penguins this summer. It’s possible Letang decides to re-sign with the Penguins, but I don’t feel like it’s a lock by any stretch.
Yohe went on to say, with the Pittsburgh having to re-sign Evgeni Malkin, Bryan Rust and Kris Letang, Malkin is the only one staying in Pittsburgh and Letang ends up signing with the Habs.
Letang, 34, was drafted 62nd overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 3rd round of the 2005 entry draft. Currently he has a total 646 points in 937 games played, and 86 playoffs points in 142 games played.
