NHL trade rumors for March 25, 2022 feature Jonathan Toews seeking a trade this coming offseason if the Blackhawks decide to rebuild.

While it has not been made public by GM Kyle Davidson the Chicago Blackhawks look like they will be going through a rebuild. This scenario looks to have Jonathan Toews question his future as a Chicago Blackhawk.

Jonathan Toews stated to Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports that he never envisioned leaving the Blackhawks organization until after all the NHL trade deadline moves the Blackhawks have made.

Toews went on to say, you can’t help but picture yourself and what it’d be like to play for another team and what that experience would bring.

Toews does have another year left on his contract with a $10,500,000 Blackhawks salary cap hit. Right now, I am not sure that contract is tradeable to a playoff contender next year. We will have to wait and see in the offseason.

Toews was drafted 3rd overall by the Blackhawks in the 1st round of the 2006 entry draft. Over a career that spans 14 seasons, he has a total 841 points in 996 games played, and 119 playoffs points in 137 games played.
