Will the Colorado Avalanche re-sign Gabriel Landeskog or let him walk? The LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks will have interest in Landeskog.

After a disappointing second round lose to the Vegas Golden Knights, the Colorado Avalanche will be looking to make some changes this off-season.

The Avs have $61.7 million in salary cap space used for the 2021-22 NHL season with Gabriel Landeskog, goaltender Philipp Grubauer and winger Brandon Saad as unrestricted free agents and defenseman Cale Makar a restricted free agent to re-sign.

Makar will be in for a big raise and the Avs will have to re-sign Grubauer who will likely command $5million/year. If the Avs are looking to shakeup the team, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post is suggesting the Avalanche might make Landeskog a take-it-or-leave-it offer of around $5 million annually and not at his preferred length in years. It is likely Landeskog will seek around $8million/year.

NHL trade rumors have the Anaheim Ducks and LA Kings that have salary cap space looking for a heart-and-guts leader like Landeskog that will give him an offer he can’t/shouldn’t turn down.

It will be an interesting off-season for Colorado, they will lose a player in the Seattle Kraken expansion draft, could they trade Nazem Kadri to free up additional cap space to keep Landeskog?
