Picture of Evan Bouchard. Will he receive an offer sheet from the Sabres, Kraken or Hurricanes?
Can the Edmonton Oilers re-sign Evan Bouchard to a new deal? Does he receive an offer sheet from the Hurricanes, Sabres or Kraken?

The Edmonton Oilers are in salary cap trouble like many of the other top teams in the NHL. The Oilers have just over $5.6 million in cap space available to fill three roster spots.

One of the players the Oilers are looking to sign is restricted free agent Evan Bouchard. The Oilers could sign him to a bridge deal to have a lower salary cap hit over the next few years, but Bouchard is seeking a long-term contract.

Hurricanes, Kraken, Sabres could send Evan Bouchard an offer sheet

NHL trade rumors are making the rounds that a few teams with salary cap space and the draft picks available could come in and offer Evan Bouchard a contract that the Oilers cannot match.

Josh Wegman of The Score states in his piece that a team could offer Bouchard a five-year contract with a salary cap hit of $8.5 million/year.

It would cost a team a first, second and third round picks in the 2024 NHL entry draft.

Wegman believes the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes and Seattle Kraken should target Evan Bouchard.

What are NHL Fans saying about an Evan Bouchard offer sheet?

The Oilers need to find a way to keep Bouchard on the team. But he is not worth $8.5 million/year.

Bouchard is overrated. He is ALL offense and plays no defense. Accept the offer sheet and we will take the draft picks.

Bouchard is the power play quarterback on the Oilers. He will rack up points. I cannot see him accepting an offer sheet.
