Toronto Maple Leafs forward Dave Bolland is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
It is believed Bolland wants as much as $5 million, maybe better than $5 million per year to stay with the Leafs to avoid unrestricted free agency.
The Leafs are willing to offer $4 million per season.
If the right deal comes along, the Leafs will trade Bolland, if GM Dave Nonis cannot find a trade partner, he will keep Bolland basically as their own rental player and see if they can sign him in the off-season.
