Jack Campbell
What will the Edmonton Oilers do with Jack Campbell? Will he be sent down to the AHL for a conditioning stint?

Jack Campbell has not had the start he wanted with the Edmonton Oilers. He has struggled since he has arrived and it has not helped that he has put a lot of pressure on himself.

Campbell signed a 5-year, $25 million contract with Edmonton and if things do not turn around soon, Campbell’s contract could become a big hinderence to the Oilers salary cap situation.

Campbell, 30, currently has a 7-6-0 record with a .872 save percentage and a 4.12 goals against average.

What options do the Oilers have with Jack Campbell?

Elliotte Friedman was on the Jeff Marek radio show and was asked what the Edmonton Oilers should do with Jack Campbell to get his confidence back.

Friedman stated, the Oilers should consider telling Campbell to take a break from talking to the media for a bit, cause he’s so hard on himself and beats himself up, might be for the best.

Friedman also suggested in his radio hit that the Oilers could consider sending down Campbell to the AHL for a conditioning stint to get his confidence back.

The Oilers would not have to worry about a team claiming Campbell off waivers as no team is going to touch Campbell’s contract right now.

Campbell should talk to a sport psychologist

With Jack Campbell’s confidence at a all-time low, he should be talking to a sport psychologist to get his mental frame back to where it should be.

This has been an issue his whole career. Let’s hope Campbell get’s his confidence back as he is a good dude.
