Ever since the San Jose Sharks terminated the contract of Evander Kane making him a free agent, NHL rumors have been swirling that the Edmonton Oilers will sign him.
Elliotte Friedman was on Sportsnet’s 32 Thoughts segment Saturday night and reports beside the Edmonton Oilers, the Washington Capitals are interested in signing Kane.
Friedman went on to say, nothing is imminent, but the Capitals might be Kane’s destination of choice after the struggles the Oilers have been having these past few weeks.
Teams are still waiting on the NHL if they will suspend Kane for allegedly travelling to his home province of Vancouver while he was supposed to be self-isolating after testing positive for COVID-19.
Besides the Capitals and Oilers having interest in signing Kane, the Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lighting have interest.
