With the Philadelphia Flyers recently signing defenceman Rasmus Ristolainen to a five-year, $25.5 million contract extension, NHL analysts are starting to chat about the possibility of the the Flyers making an Ivan Provorov trade.
Elliotte Friedman was on Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek Radio Show and stated if Ivan Provorov does become available, and I stress IF, the Vegas Golden Knights would make a lot of sense.
Friedman went on to say, GM Kelly McCrimmon brought him over to Brandon when he owned the Wheat Kings of the WHL, he knows him well and as we know, Vegas seems to always find a way to fit a high-end player into their salary cap.
The Golden Knights are in a win now mode and who knows if they can make Provorov’s salary work. IF Provorov is indeed available for a trade, they would not be the only team interested. The St. Louis Blues would likely also have interest in a Provorov trade.
