Tyler Bertuzzi
Tyler Bertuzzi will be out 4-6 weeks from blocking a shot with his right hand. Indications are he suffered a broken bone in his hand.

The Detroit Red Wings received some bad news today. Forward Tyler Bertuzzi suffered an injury blocking a shot and will be out 4-6 weeks from what the team calls an ‘upper body injury’.

How did Tyler Bertuzzi get injured?

Bertuzzi blocked a shot on Saturday that hit him in the right hand. With the length of time he is out, he likely has a broken bone in his hand.

In Bertuzzi’s absence, this gives an opportunity to Filip Zadina to showcase his skill to Red Wing management as he will get some top line duty.

Bertuzzi has been mentioned in the NHL rumor mill this past offseason as he is in the final year of his contract, with an AVV of $4,750,000. There has been no word on if the Red Wings want to re-sign him or trade him once the NHL trade deadline gets closer.
