Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet was reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking trade for a top 9 forward with a preference to the center position as the team has had a string of long-term injuries to Joe Thornton and Nick Robertson.
Defenseman Travis Dermott is playing only 11 minutes per game and maybe the likeliest trade candidate. Rasmus Sandin or Mikko Lehtonen could fill his lineup spot if he’s moved.Â
The Leafs also have to think about the Seattle Kraken expansion draft as they will likely leave Dermott exposed and if he is traded another one of their young players could be drafted by Seattle.
