The Toronto Maple Leafs are not interested in trading star forward William Nylander and instead intends to keep him as a rental.

This offseason, there have been numerous trade rumors surrounding William Nylander. Toronto Maple Leaf fans have been wondering whether the team will trade the Swedish star or keep the core four together.

Nylander has been linked to the Seattle Kraken, Anaheim Ducks, and Nashville Predators, but as training camp approaches in a few weeks, nothing has come of these rumors.

William Nylander staying with the Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs have Stanley Cup aspirations, and the Buds will need William Nylander as their own rental if they are to make a deep playoff run this year.

The Maple Leafs are expected to keep Nylander until next offseason and see if they can sign him to a team-friendly long-term contract. If not, he’ll be a free agent next summer.

Nylander, 27, is coming off the best season of his career, in which he scored 87 points (40 goals, 47 assists) in 82 games.

Nylander is not being traded. The Leafs have no interest in prospects or first round picks. a trade scenerio where you would see Seth Jones for Nylander is they type of deal that would happen, but won’t.

Leafs will keep Willy, not trade him, lose in the first round of the playoffs and see him walk away in free agency with no return. This is the Toronto Maple Leaf way.

Mitch Marner should be the leaf player traded and not William Nylander.
