Defenceman Toni Lydman is ready to retire and an announcement will be made soon.
Lydman has turned down two separate contracts, both for two years and $5 million.
Lydman, who is from Lahti, Finland had six assists in 35 games for the Anaheim Ducks last season.
A veteran of 12 NHL season, the 35-year-old has also skated for the Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres since breaking into the league in 2000-01.
