NHL trade rumors have frequently involved the New York Islanders this offseason, as it’s rumored that GM Lou Lamoriello is searching for some offensive help.
The Islanders missed out on signing Vladimir Tarsenko, but are now interested in Tomas Tatar after being linked to William Nylander.
Will the New York Islanders sign free-agent forward Tomas Tatar?
Stefan Rosner of The Hockey News believes the New York Islanders have an interest in signing Tomas Tatar to a contract.
Tatar would like to re-sign with the New Jersey Devils but they do not have room on the roster to fit him in.
Rosner believes that the Islanders can solve their salary cap problems and offensive forward search by waiving Ross Johnston and Karson Kuhlman to sign Tatar.
NHL trade rumors also have the Buffalo Sabres interested in signing Tatar with forward Jack Quinn out long-term.
Buffalo should sign Tatar. It would make sense.
