Picture of K'Andre Miller. Will he be traded this offseason?
Will K'Andre Miller be a salary cap casualty for the New York Rangers this offseason? Does he need a change of scenery?

The New York Rangers were expected to be Stanley Cup contenders but instead they fizzled out in the first round of the 2023 NHL playoffs against the New Jersey Devils.

The team could not find any offense, team chemistry was not there and changes will be coming this offseason as this current team was not built for a deep playoff run.

K’Andre Miller likely to be traded this offseason

Changes are coming this offseason, Alexis Lafreniere is the first name to come up in the NHL trade rumors mill as the big boys in the New York Rangers lineup all have no-move clauses.

But one name that is making the rounds is defenseman K’Andre Miller. He is a restricted free agent this season like Lafreniere and will be looking for a big pay raise.

Salary rumors for Miller have ranged anywhere from $5million/year on a bridge deal to a $6.5 million/year long-term contract.

With a hard NHL salary cap, GM Chris Drury might have to trade Miller, with only $12 million in NY Rangers salary cap space available.

Miller, 23, had a solid regular season with 43 points (9g, 34a) in 79 games played.

What are NY Rangers fans saying about a K’Andre Miller trade?

Trade K’Andre Miller. He often doesn’t play like a defenceman.

Kā€™andre Miller has been a HUGE liability for the past few months. A change of scenery might be needed.

Miller is terrible. I donā€™t care what his advanced metrics are. heā€™s absolutely awful.
