The NHL trade rumors mill has been busy this offseason with a plethora of teams looking to trade players to shed salary or get draft picks and prospects to build for the future.
One team that wants high draft picks and prospects is the Chicago Blackhawks. They are in a full rebuild, they want to land Connor Bedard at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft and are looking to trade their best trade chip in Alex DeBrincat, but the asking price is very very high.
Momentum is building for an Alex DeBrincat trade, one team offered a reasonably high 1st round pick and another 1st round pick and prospect, not a great prospect but a young player who could play and that wasn’t enough to get it done.

DeBrincat will be traded during this offseason or at the 2023 NHL trade deadline, it will all depend on when that big trade offer arrives for the Blackhawks. Someone will pay a steep price for DeBrincat, he is 24 and in his prime years.
DeBrincat has one more year left on his current contract with a Blackhawks salary cap hit of $6,400,000.
