The Boston Bruins are in salary cap hell this coming season. They need to fill 8 roster spots and have only $4.9 million in Bruins salary cap space available.
The B’s would love to re-sign Tyler Bertuzzi but that will not happen unless the team clears out some big salaries.
Jake DeBrusk will be traded this offseason
The Bruins are desperately trying to trade Taylor Hall but with his modified no-trade clause, it will make it difficult. Forward Jake DeBrusk has been in the NHL trade rumors mill before and he is back in it again.
He had requested a trade out of Boston in the 2021-22 season and he now may get his wish.
The Bruins will only be seeking prospects or draft picks for DeBrusk and the two teams that recently had the most interest in DeBrusk are the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames. They could circle back as both those teams are looking to add some scoring punch to the lineup.
DeBrusk is coming off a solid season were he put up 50 points (27g, 23a) in 64 games.
Much as he was a disappointment this season, Charlie Mac is the one untouchable. I would trade Pasta before Chuck, but Taylor’s got to go Matt’s too small. Ullmark was horrible in the playoffs he’s still got great marketability. You could get a number pick for Linus. We need a bona fid no 1 centre Zacha’s could be a number 2 centre but that about as far as it goes get so,e size and seep on the backend. We need Debrusk speed he is the fastest skater on the team.
Sweeney and Neely should be fired. They have made a mess of this team with signings, trades and draft picks that didn’t work out. Even is they won the Stanley Cup, they would have the same problem. The most logical player to trade would be Charlie McAvoy. He’s making $9.5 million per season and among defensemen he ranked 7th in plus minus, 18th in scoring and 41st in average time on ice. By comparison, Brandon Montour had 21 more points than McAvoy and was plus 23. He makes $3.25 million per season. Dougie Hamilton also had 21 more points than McAvoy, was plus 9 and makes $3.3 million per season. The Bruins will be fine on defense without McAvoy and they can trade him now. Trade McAvoy, keep Hall and Debrusk. I would even consider trading Patrnak. Yes, he scored 61 goals which was great, but he also turns the puck over more than any player on the team and having one of the best scorers in the league does guarantee a Stanley Cup. In fact, the teams that win usually have balanced scoring throughout the lineup. That’s what the Bruins need. More balance.
Don’t trade Jake he has come in his own plays hard , plays both ends of the ice . Safe 11million trade Pastrnak he’s a great scorer! But he just stand there waiting for the puck, he won’t score 60 goals againt
