Shane Pinto, born on November 12, 2000, in Franklin Square, New York, is a professional ice hockey center for the Ottawa Senators in the NHL. His journey into professional hockey was marked by a transition from a preference for baseball and American football to ice hockey following a clavicle fracture at the age of 14. His minor ice hockey career mostly unfolded with the Brooklyn Aviators in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL).

His professional journey kicked off when he was drafted 32nd overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Pinto made his NHL debut in the late 2020-21 season, scoring his first goal on May 5, 2021, against the Montreal Canadiens. He ended the season with one goal and six assists. The following season (2021-22) was challenging as he missed most games due to injuries. However, he bounced back in the 2022-23 season, earning the NHL’s Rookie of the Month title in October and finishing the season with 20 goals and 35 points in 82 games.

Before his NHL career, Pinto showcased promising talent in the United States Hockey League (USHL) during the 2018-19 season, where he tallied 59 points in 59 games, leading all first-year players. He then committed to playing the 2019-20 season with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks, impressing scouts during his time there which later facilitated his entry into the NHL.
