Will Steven Stamkos sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Latest Steven Stamkos trade rumors

Which team will Steven Stamkos sign with?

Now that NHL teams can now talk with Steven Stamkos, the big question is where will he sign? Some say the Detroit Red Wings is the destination now that the team has traded away Pavel Datsyuk’s contract. The Red Wings now have the cap space to offer Stamkos $10 million/year. The Toronto Maple Leafs are also in the mix. Rumors going around are the Leafs are willing to offer Stamkos a contract of $9-$9.5 million/year and pitch him the idea he will make even more money from endorsements. The Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres are also in the Stamkos sweepstakes.

TSN: Pierre LeBrun reports Tampa Bay Lightning GM Steve Yzerman said all avenues remain open to re-sign Stamkos. He also didn’t rule out doing a sign-and-trade.

Darren Dreger is reporting the Red Wings could table a seven-year offer worth at least $10 million annually.

James Duthie points out Stamkos could make around $3 million per year through endorsements in Toronto.

Bob McKenzie believes Steven Stamkos wants to return with the Lightning, but now that the window is open to speak with other clubs, why not listen to what they have to offer.
