Vince Dunn’s name was circulating in the NHL Trade rumors mill earlier this season. It was being reported the the St. Louis Blues were asking for a 1st round pick in exchange for Dunn.
Dunn, 24, is a pending restricted free agent and has been drawing trade interest around the league. Elliotte Friedman is reporting, “He’s a really talented player,” Friedman said during the Headlines segment on Hockey Night in Canada. “He had 20 points in 43 games this year, played very well for them and their Stanley Cup run a couple of years ago.”
With the upcoming expansion draft, St. Louis will likely make it a priority to protect defencemen like Justin Faulk, Torey Krug and Colton Parayko. This means the Blues could look to get assets in return for Dunn to avoid losing him to the Seattle Kraken.
NHL Rumors had the Ottawa Senators, LA Kings, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets all interested in Dunn earlier this year but no one wanted to pay the 1st round pick price.
