NHL trade rumors floated around all last season about a J.T. Miller trade this offseason. The New York Rangers had interest in a Miller trade at the NHL Trade Deadline as they have the assets to make a trade but have serious salary cap issues this summer and next season.

Patrick Johnston of The Province has confirmed that the Vancouver Canucks are listening to offers on a Miller trade this summer. The Metropolitan division teams are the ones with the most interest.

The club would like to keep Miller, However, he warned that it might not make sense for both sides. “We’d like to do it but we’ve got to be careful.”

The Washington Capitals have interest in Miller as they will be shopping for a replacement for Nicklas Backstrom as his future is in doubt after having hip resurfacing surgery.

If Evgeni Malkin decides to leave the Pittsburgh Penguins via free agency this summer, the Pens could target Miller for one last Stanley Cup run.

NHL Rumors have circulated that the New Jersey Devils are offering up their 2nd overall pick at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft to improve the team and make a playoff push for the 2022-23 season. GM Tom Fitzgerald will look closely at a Miller trade on draft day.
