With the NHL season hitting Thanksgiving in the USA, this is the point of the season where the league generally knows if a team is a playoff contender or not.
NHL trade rumors will start picking up in December and one name that has been quiet in the rumor mill is Patrick Kane.
Will Patrick Kane end up being a LA King?
Elliotte Friedman posted on the Sportsnet website in his 32 Thoughts section that the Los Angeles Kings could make a trade for Patrick Kane, they have the draft picks and prospects to do it.
Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff reports Kane will be traded and he will be moved closer to the NHL trade deadline. Kane indicated in the offseason that if he wanted to be traded, it would be closer to the deadline.
Seravalli went on to say the trade package the Blackhawks could get in a Patrick Kane trade would be comparible on what the Philadelphia Flyers received from the Florida Panthers for Claude Giroux.
Panthers received:Â Claude Giroux (Flyers retain 50% of salary), Connor Bunnaman, German Rubtsov, and a 2024 fifth-rounder.
Flyers received: Owen Tippett, a 2024 first-round pick (top-10 protected), and the Panthers’ 2023 third-round pick.
Kane might fetch a little more than Giroux and it will start with a first round draft pick and top prospect.
