As the offseason winds down and NHL training camps are set to open on the second week of September, the Ottawa Senators are looking to finalize their roster with a Jakob Chychrun trade.
Brent Wallace recently reported the asking price from the Arizona Coyotes has not changed since the 2022 NHL trade deadline.
Wallace was told Ottawa remains in pursuit of a Chychrun trade. The management teams of the Yotes and Sens have discussed a trade.
What is the asking price on a Jakob Chychrun trade?
The ask remains two first round picks and a high end prospect plus Arizona would also take Senators defenceman Nikita Zaitsev and his $4.5 million contract for the next two years.
If a deal cannot be brokered between the two teams, the Coyotes might wait until the 2023 NHL trade deadline.
More teams will have salary cap space available at the deadline to take on Chychrun’s attractive salary cap hit and could be willing to give up the assets Arizona seeks.
