Alex Formenton
NHL trade rumors for November 1, 2022 feature Alex Formenton. Will the Ottawa Senators trade him or re-sign him?

December 1st is the deadline to sign restricted free agents and Ottawa Senators forward Alex Formenton remains unsigned and it appears he is not close to signing with the Sens.

If the December 1st deadline passes, Formenton will be forced to sit out the entire year.

Will Alex Formenton be traded?

Darren Dreger was on TSN’s Insider Trading and reports not much is being done on the Alex Formenton contract front. This has been a real quiet stalemate between Formenton and the Ottawa Senators.

Dreger went on to say there are only two options the Senators can do at this point, you either sign Formenton and keep him or you trade him to get him back into the NHL.

It is believed a trade is more likely to come than him re-signing with the Ottawa Senators.

Formenton, 23, is coming off a 32 point (18g, 14a) campaign in 2021-22.

He was drafted 47th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2nd round of the 2017 NHL entry draft. Currently over a career that spans 4 seasons, he has a total 39 points in 109 games played.
