Will the Islanders make a trade for Stamkos or Hall?

New York Post: Larry Brooks wonders if GM Garth Snow is ready to make a big trade at the 2016 NHL Trade Deadline? Brooks believes the first order of business is to acquire a true top-line winger for John Tavares’ line and add depth to their defense corps, perhaps a puck-moving blueliner. The Islanders have the assets to trade for a top-tier winger. Will Snow make a big trade and go after Steven Stamkos or Taylor Hall?

Bryan Bickell hoping to be traded

Chicago Sun-Times: Bryan Bickell’s agent Todd Diamond remains hopeful of working out a trade for the Chicago Blackhawks winger. Several NHL teams could be willing to take a chance on Bickell if he wasn’t carrying a $4 million per season cap hit through 2016-17. The Blackhawks will likey have to retain salary to make a trade.

Are the Canucks looking to trade Alex Burrows?

The Fourth Period: Vancouver is trending toward a youth movement. Veteran forward Alex Burrows, understands his time with the team could be running out. “You think about it (future), but you want to be a good team guy,” Burrows told the Vancouver Province. Burrows, 34, has one-year left on his contract after this season. He owns a no-trade clause and would have to approve any deal the Canucks try to make.

  1. If Larry Brooks is talking Islanders hockey, he is usually wrong or talking out of his *ss. I do think the Isles will make a trade but for Stamkos, please. An unrestricted free agent to be that in no way will come back next year. And even if he does will command 10M a year. Tavares will want the same. 20M tied up in 2 players. Will never happen. I think the Isles will look to bolster their D or get a 2nd line type winger that could help JT but also cushion the possible loss of Okposo in the off-season.
