Will the Detroit Red Wings trade Mike Green?
TSN: Pierre LeBrun was on insider trading and reports defenseman Mike Green hasn’t hit the trade market yet because the Detroit Red Wings haven’t given up on the season yet. He carries a $6 million salary-cap hit with a full no-trade clause. If the Wings put him on the trade block, LeBrun speculates the Tampa Bay Lightning could have interest in him.
Buffalo Sabres seeking a lot for Evander Kane
TSN 1050: Bob McKenzie was on the radio discussing Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane. McKenzie reports the Sabres are asking for a 1st round pick, top prospect and a roster player. Mckenzie feels the Sabres will not get a 1st round pick for Kane as GM’s are just not willing to part with 1st round picks like in previous years.
Latest Toronto Maple Leafs rumors
Leafs Lunch: Pierre LeBrun was on the radio discussing what the Toronto Maple Leafs will do at the 2018 NHL trade deadline. He feels they will add a depth defenceman but not try and trade for a #1 or #2 dman. LeBrun mentioned the Leafs tried to make a trade for Travis Hamonic at the 2017 NHL entry draft but were not willing to give up a 1st round pick and top prospect. GM Lou Lamoriello is still not willing to give away his top prospects for a top dman at this point in time either.
