New York Rangers ask Rick Nash for his no-trade list
TSN 1050: Bob McKenzie was on the radio and he confirms that the New York Rangers have asked Rick Nash for teams he would be willing to be traded to. Nash has a 18 team no-trade-list and there is no word on the teams he would be willing to be traded to. Nash, 33, is in the final year of his contract before becoming an unrestricted free agent this summer. With a $7.8 million cap hit, the Rangers would likely take on some of that money to make Nash more appealing on the trade market while ensuring they get something in return for him. Teams like the Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators, San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues are contenders in need of a boost that could be featured on Nash’s accepted teams list if he’s looking for a run at a Stanley Cup.
Latest Toronto Maple Leafs trade rumors
Toronto Sun: Terry Koshan reports there’s a slim possibility the Toronto Maple Leafs could trade impending free agent left wing James van Riemsdyk at the Feb. 26 2018 NHL trade deadline. However, the general feeling is they’ll retain him for the remainder of the season. General manager Lou Lamoriello won’t just focus on possibly shopping other unrestricted free agents such as Tyler Bozak, Leo Komarov, Dominic Moore or Roman Polak. Winger Josh Leivo reportedly wants a fresh start elsewhere while Nikita Soshnikov could also be on the market.
