
After being in the NHL rumor mill for over three months the Montreal Canadiens have finally found a suitor and traded Ben Chiarot.
Ben Chiarot has been traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Tyler Smilanic, a 1st-round pick in 2023, and a 4th-round pick in 2022.
The Habs are retaining 50% (1.75M) of Chiarot’s salary cap hit, the Panthers now have $3.7M in NHL Trade Deadline cap space.
Chiarot is a pending unrestricted free agent and carries a salary cap hit of $3.5 million. He has seven goals and 18 points in 54 games this season.
