Tampa Bay Times: Now that Ben Bishop has been traded. GM Steve Yzerman could look to trade a few other assets. Edmonton, Toronto and Columbus could be landing spots for checking-line center Brian Boyle. Nashville, St. Louis, New Jersey and the Islanders could use a center like Tyler Johnson.

Newsday: GM Garth Snow would like to make a big move and prove to John Tavares that the franchise wants to win. The New York Islanders scouted the Edmonton Oilers’ recent games in Florida, likely to follow right wing Jordan Eberle. The Islanders also have interest in Colorado’s Matt Duchene and Tampa Bay’s Tyler Johnson whom would fill big needs for the isles, but both are expensive to acquire.

Buffalo Sabres likely to be sellers at the NHL trade deadline

Buffalo News: With the Buffalo Sabres slumping lately, they will likely be in sell mode. The Sabres should be able to trade Cody Franson and Dmitry Kulikov for mid-round picks. Brian Gionta has said that he wants to remain with the team. Gionta has a list of five teams he’d accept a trade to.
