Taylor Hall

Will the Oilers make a big trade soon or wait till the 2016 NHL Draft?

Sportsnet: It’s only a matter of time until the Edmonton Oilers make a major trade. GM Peter Chiarelli will most likely pursue a N0. 2 or 3 defenseman. Taylor Hall would fetch the biggest return, though Hall is the Oilers’ most productive player and is improving his defenseman game. A more likely trade candidate is center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, as he would fetch more than winger If the right deal comes along for Chiarelli, he will make a trade soon, if not, he will wait till the 2016 NHL Draft.

Eric Staal will not veto a trade

NHL.com: Dan Rosen reports Eric Staal said he won’t use his no-movement clause to veto a trade if it’s clear to him the Carolina Hurricanes no longer want him. Staal’s preference is to remain with the Hurricanes.

Kyle Okposo will not be traded unless team out of playoff position

NBC Sports: NY Islanders winger  and pending UFA Kyle Okposo won’t be traded unless the club falls completely out of the playoff picture by the trade deadline. The club is focused on making the playoffs and going as far as they can. even at the risk of losing Okposo to free agency in July.
