Darren Dreger: Dreger reported via Twitter “The Toronto Maple Leafs could have moved Dion Phaneuf but feel a better deal to be made in summer. The Leafs also talked at length with a couple of teams on Joffrey Lupul.”
Phaneuf, Phil Kessel, Tyler Bozak and Lupul will most likely be traded before or at the NHL Entry draft in June.
The Fourth Period: The Dallas Stars received some offers for forward Shawn Horcoff but decided against moving him. The Stars discussed a Dion Phaneuf trade and those talks are expected to resume in the off-season.
CSNNE.com: Joe Haggerty reports defenseman Dennis Seidenberg was willing to waive his no-trade clause if Boston asked him to. Haggerty suggests Seidenberg and winger Loui Eriksson could be dealt in the offseason as cost-cutting moves as the Bruins need to shed salary.
