Phil Kessel

The Score: The Toronto Maple Leafs are willing to take contract back in a Phil Kessel trade.

Sportsnet Elliotte Friedman reports:

“Toronto’s let it be known it will take salary back for Phil Kessel, but there is a limit. It’s got to be less (in term and value) than Kessel’s,” said Friedman.

The Leafs are looking for draft picks and prospects in a potential deal for Kessel.

CBS Sports: Adam Gretz lists St. Louis winger Vladimir Tarasenko, Los Angeles’ Tyler Toffoli and Martin Jones, Chicago’s Brandon Saad and Marcus Kruger and Boston defenseman Dougie Hamilton as possible targets for offer sheets.

Toronto Sun: Chicago’s Patrick Sharp and Bryan Bickell, Ottawa’s Craig Anderson or Robin Lehner, Colorado center Ryan O’Reilly, New York Rangers’ Cam Talbot and Rick Nash, Toronto’s Phil Kessel and Dion Phaneuf, St. Louis winger T.J. Oshie and Vancouver’s Kevin Bieksa or Dan Hamhuis could be traded this week.
