Philadelphia Flyers shopping defenceman
The Fourth Period: The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to trade some defenceman as they are looking to shed salary cap space in order to have Shayne Gostisbehere on the roster when Mark Streit comes back from injury. GM Ron Hextall has been trying to trade defenseman Luke Schenn for a long time, while blueliner Andrew MacDonald is also being shopped. Hextall has admitted publicly that he has “too many defensemen” and mentioned that “we’ll have to make a move” but did not project when a trade would be coming.
Habs acquire G Scrivens from Oilers for F Kassian
TSN: The Montreal Canadiens have acquired goalie Ben Scrivens from Edmonton Oilers for forward Zack Kassian. Scrivens was playing for the Oilers AHL affliate team and Kassian will report to Bakersfield while the Oilers will retain 24 per cent of Scrivens’ salary.
