The Toronto Sun: Steve Simmons is reporting the Toronto Maple Leafs are preparing to blow up the roster. Morgan Rielly and James van Riemsdyk to be untouchable. Simmons feels Cody Franson, Mike Santorelli, Daniel Winnik, Joffrey Lupul, Tyler Bozak and Roman Polak are for sale and will be traded at the NHL Trade Deadline.
The Fourth Period: The Anaheim Ducks are looking to make a major splash before the March 2 trade deadline and would like to add a top-line left wing to their roster. They had serious interest in Evander Kane and Taylor Hall before both went out with injuries. The Ducks will probably go with a short-term solution by acquiring a left winger in the final-year of his contract. The Ducks like Buffalo Sabres veteran Drew Stafford and Arizona Coyotes forward Antoine Vermette.
Sportsnet: Nick Kypreos believes the Boston Bruins are the closest to acquiring Buffalo Sabres forward Chris Stewart, but what the Sabres want in return remains a sticking point. Kypreos claims Bruins prospect Ryan Spooner could be in play, but Sabres GM Tim Murray wants another piece in the deal.
Sabres GM Murray wants a top prospect and a draft pick, preferably a high one, for Stewart.
