The Winnipeg Free Press reports Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff would like to get a Evander Kane deal done by the March 2 NHL trade deadline, but isn’t against waiting until the off-season to complete a move. The asking price for Kane is “a young NHL player, a grade A prospect and a first round draft pick.”

Latest Toronto Maple Leafs rumors – Three of the team’s pending unrestricted free agents, Cody Franson, Daniel Winnik and Mike Santorelli, have generated significant interest from other teams. Cody Franson would like to re-sign with the Leafs but will most likely be traded. The Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning have expressed an interest in Franson, while the Kings and Dallas Stars have also been speaking with GM Dave Nonis about Dion Phaneuf. Trade discussions between the Leafs an the Colorado Avalanche are also ongoing, as talks have revolved around Avs center Ryan O’Reilly.

ESPN.com: The Boston Bruins will be buyers leading up to the NHL Trade deadline. They could use another scoring forward and some veteran depth on the blueline. Potential options for the Bruins include: Chris Stewart, Drew Stafford, Jordan Eberle, Antoine Vermette and Martin Erat.
