Northjersey.com: With Ray Shero being the new GM of the New Jersey Devils, his task is to try and upgrade the team’s scoring either through free-agent signings or trades. STLToday.com: After another early exit from the playoffs for the St. Louis Blues, they would like to make changes to the team but it will not be easy. The Blues would like to make a deal for draft picks or prospects and not take back salary. Six Blues have no-trade clauses in their contracts: Paul Stastny, Alexander Steen, David Backes, Patrik Berglund, Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester.
The Fourth Period: Alex Burmistrov’s KHL contract is up and it appears he is planning on a return to the NHL. Burmistrov left the NHL after being displeased with his playing time in Winnipeg under former Jets head coach Claude Noel. The Jets still own Burmistrov’s rights and GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has to decide if he wants to keep him or trade him?
