Montreal Gazzette: Now that the Montreal Canadiens have been eliminated from the playoffs they know their priorities for the off season. The Canadiens need another bona fide offensive force on a par with Max Pacioretty. They also need a genuine first-line centre. One player of that calibre who might be available on the market is Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin, but the cost would likely be too much for the Canadiens. Montreal will likely use big defenceman Jarred Tinordi as trade bait to land a scorer.
ESPN.com: What will the Washington Capitals do in the off season? Defenceman Mike Green will not be back with the team and he will test out the free agent market. The Capitals must re-sign goalie Braden Holtby to a long-term contract extension, and re-sign RFA forward Marcus Johansson. The Capitals would also like to free up salary cap space by trading Brooks Laich and the remaining two years of his contract (at $4.5 million annually).
