NHL Injury news: Drew Doughty will miss the remainder of the season and playoffs after undergoing wrist surgery.

Drew Doughty has had a pretty healthy career not missing many games in his first 13 seasons where he missed a total of 34 games. This year he has missed 36 games.

Doughty underwent wrist surgery on Monday and will be out for rest of the season including the 2022 NHL Playoffs.

Doughty leads the Kings with an average ice time of 25:44 and is also first among LA Kings defensemen with 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists) despite being limited to 39 games.

Doughty, 32, was drafted 2nd overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1st round of the 2008 entry draft. Currently he has a total 567 points in 1014 games played, and 51 playoffs points in 84 games played.
