Pierre-Luc Dubois
NHL trade rumors are circulating the the Habs have interest in trading for Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois.

NHL trade rumors are starting to make the rounds that the Montreal Canadiens are looking to be instant playoff contenders and have interest in a Pierre-Luc Dubois trade.

Columnist Martin Leclerc reports the Montreal Canadiens are talking with the Winnipeg Jets about a trade for Dubois and trade talks have been ongoing since the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

Leclerc went on to say if the Habs trade for Dubois is completed the team would have four solid centers in Dubois, Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach and Jake Evans. The rebuild could be quicker than expected.

There is no word on what the Canadiens are offering up on a Dubois trade but it will not be cheap. The asking price is likely the Habs 2023 1st round pick, a top prospect and roster player.

If the Habs are accelerating their rebuild, you can count them out on the Connor Bedard sweepstakes for the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

  1. Suzuki is the only player who moves the needle for Winnipeg. Otherwise, I don’t see it happening, baring a three way trade.
