The Calgary Flames have signed Mark Giordano to 6-year contract extension worth $40.5 million or $6.75 million per season.
Giordano’s extension includes a full no-trade clause through 2019-20. He gets a 10-team no-trade list after that.
Giordano, 31, who has served as team captain since 2013, signed a five-year, $20.1-million deal with the club back in 2011 that was set to expire at the end of the upcoming season. The new deal will carry through to the end of 2021-22.
