Will Brady Tkachuk sign a contract with the Ottawa Senators before the season starts or could he sit out the season?

If you have been following this site, other NHL trade rumors sites or the sports stations you know what has been offered to Brady Tkachuk. He has an eight-year, $64 million contract on the table, waiting for it to be signed.

Darren Dreger was the TSN 1050 morning show and talked about the contract. He feels it is a fair contract for both sides but believes Tkachuk might want more if he signs an eight-year deal.

Dreger feels if Tkachuk signs a three-year bridge deal, he will not finish that contract and will likely be traded. The Ottawa Senators want Tkachuk to be their captain and leader for years to come.

Dreger also added the reason Tkachuk wants more money is his camp feels he will be a $10 million or more a year player in years four to eight.

Note: An RFA must sign by 5pm EST December 1 in order for the contract to be valid for the season.  If this contract stalemate drags on and Tkachuk is not signed by December 1st, 2021, he will sit out the season.
