Picture of John Gibson. Will he be traded to the LA Kings?
The latest NHL trade rumors for the LA Kings feature the team interested in making a trade for Anaheim Ducks goalie John Gibson.

For over two years, Anaheim Ducks goalie John Gibson has been the subject of NHL trade rumors. Despite being linked to the Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins in the past, his big contract and no-trade clause have been issues for potential trade partners.

The LA Kings are the latest team interested in trading for Gibson. Will it happen before the NHL season starts in October?

Will the LA Kings make a trade for John Gibson?

According to Eric Duhatschek from The Athletic, in order for the LA Kings to have a chance at winning the Stanley Cup, they need to acquire a top-tier goalie. While they have expressed interest in trading for Connor Hellebuyck from the Winnipeg Jets, it seems unlikely that such a deal will come to fruition.

Duhatschek believes John Gibson would be a great addition to the Kings, and trading with division rivals is no longer off-limits. A deal could be worked out between the Anaheim Ducks and Kings.

Gibson has a modified no-trade clause for 10 teams, which could potentially prevent a trade to the Los Angeles Kings. However, it seems likely that he would be eager to play for a team that is contending for the Stanley Cup, rather than not making the postseason and starting the golf season early once again.

What are NHL fans saying about a potential John Gibson trade to the LA Kings?

Cam Talbot is always injured and Phoenix Copley in not the answer. The Kings need to make a trade for either Gibson or Hellebuyck.

I see Gibson being more of a NHL trade deadline deal than an offseason move.

The Kings are going no where unless they find a legit #1 goalie.
