The New York Islanders have let teams know defenseman Andrew MacDonald is available for a trade.
MacDonald, 27, is in the final-year of his current contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1, 2014.
Macdonald is the Islanders most valuable trade chip, he is having a career year and is on pace for 41 points. Macdonald is looking for a big pay increase and the Islanders cannot come to terms on money.
The Islanders are seeking a top prospect or 1st round pick for Macdonald.
