What will the New York Rangers do with Tony DeAngelo? He is in coach David Quinn’s dog house and the question is can he get out? Does DeAngelo want to play for Quinn? Will he be traded?
NHL trade rumors in the off-season had the Rangers shopping DeAngelo. It was reported with the Rangers trading up in the NHL draft to pick defenceman Braden Schneider is further indication the Rangers do not envision long-term relationship with DeAngelo.
The Vegas Golden Knights were interested in DeAngelo before they signed Alex Pietrangelo to a deal. DeAngelo appeared in 68 games last season, posting 15 goals and 38 assists while finishing the year plus-12.
As the season goes on, teams that are making a playoff push and that need an offensive puck moving defenceman will likely call the Rangers on his availability.
I hope he is traded soon, he was my last defenceman pick in my hockey pool.
Any team who wants Tony D. better be ready to break the bank.
