Evgeny Kuznetsov requests trade out of Washington
Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov has requested a trade out of Washington. He has wanted out of DC for a couple of years.

The Washington Capitals have had a disappointing year as they are likely to miss the playoffs. They currently sit six points back for the last playoff spot with only eight games remaining.

With the Capitals having a disappointing season, this has lead to some NHL trade rumors on forward Evgeny Kuznetsov being traded in the offseason?

Evgeny Kuznetsov has requested a trade out of Washington?

Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports that it is possible that the reporting out of Russia stating that Evgeny Kuznetsov has asked to be traded this offseason could be true.

El-Bashir went on to say in his piece that it could be tough for Capitals managment to get fair market value for Kuznetsov, who turns 31 in a few months and has a Capitals salary cap hit of $7.8 million.

Kuznetsov also carries a 10-team no-trade clause which he might have to waive if he indeed wants out of Washington.

What are Capitals fans saying about a Evgeny Kuznetsov trade?

So trade him. He doesn’t want to play anymore in Washington? Bye Kuznetsov! Maybe he’ll grow up playing for Arizona, Winnipeg or Columbus.

Laviolette has killed this team and upset so many quality players. If Kuzy leaves, it is what it is. But Laviolette absolutely has to go this off season.

Honestly not the worst news. If traded it opens a spot up for Connor McMichael or Hendrix Lapierre. And maybe brings in return a younger top 6 winger.
