Evander Kane holding his wrist after being cut by a skate
Evander Kane has wrist cut by Patrick Maroon's skate. He had surgery and no word on how long Kane will be out of the lineup?

In a scary incident last night in the Edmonton Oilers vs Tampa Bay Lightning game, Evander Kane was hit to the ice by Lightning defenceman Philippe Myers that exposed Kane’s wrist and as Patrick Maroon skated by his skate blade went across Kane’s wrist.

You can see the incident happen in the video below.

Evander Kane is expected to miss three to four months with the injury and has been placed on long-term injured reserve.

“I think you could feel the energy in the entire rink kind of just get sucked out. We’re thinking about him. We’re hearing he’s doing OK, but that’s obviously initial.”

Connor McDavid

Kane, 31, has 13 points (5g, 8a) over 13 games this season with Oilers. Kane is in the first-year of a four-year, $20.5 million contract with an $5.125 million AVV.
