Elias Pettersson trade rumors
NHL trade rumors for November 8, 2022 feature Elias Pettersson. Will the Canucks trade their young superstar or trade him?

The Vancouver Canucks have struggled in the first month of the NHL season and team President Jim Rutherford is not happy. He was not happy how training camp went and he is not happy how the start of the season has gone.

Rutherford tried to make a number of trades in the summer, but with the Canucks cap space or the prices paid by other teams always beat them to the punch.

Will Elias Pettersson be traded at some point this season?

Elias Pettersson does not own a no-trade clause so he can be moved at any time. If Rutherford is serious about significant changes to the team, does he make Pettersson available?

Pettersson, 23, has this season and next season left on his contract with an AVV of $7,350,000.

Rutherford will have to decide soon if he wants to build around Pettersson and Quinn Hughes or go full tank nation and hope they win the draft lottery next year to select Connor Bedard.

Frank Seravalli reports, Jim Rutherford’s goal for next summer is moving big contracts to clear salary cap space. Vancouver is open for business.

We’re at the point where we have to make players more accountable. Take the necessary steps to get their attention.
